Livres en Folie as established itself as a tradition in the Haitian community and culture since its first edition in 1995. Initiated by UNIBANK and Le Nouvelliste, this book fair has grown steadily year after year. Since 2008, Parc Historique de la Canne à Sucre has been the new site for the event. Innovation of this year, a space will be available with more than 160 titles for kids and teenagers. The on line sale will also take place from 19 to May 22 for the pleasure of the net surfers.
- More space and an improved organization to receive accordingly the 7 participating leading publishers,
- About sixty book signings,
- more than one thousand and six Haitian book titles and thousands of visitors...
Cultural activities
To better answer the vision of the organizers who perceive this event more than as a marketing activity, at “ Livres En Folie” a list of cultural activities will be organized: seminars, conferences, conferences around ” the book” in conference rooms arranged for this purpose. The honoree of this year is Mr. Marc Bazin who will sign the first volume of his book “Des idées pour l’action”.
Pen Club
10 writers of this club will also be present on May 22 at the fair for the presentation of conferences. Some Books of these authors will be sold with real costs i.e. without the reduction applied to the other books on sale.
Book Signings
To pleasure the readers present at the past editions of the Fair of the Book, the authors in signature will be this year gathered in the same space. They will also carry a badge which will make it possible to easily identify them for the great happiness of the fans.

Organization/ A special space for journalists
This year, once again, the service was improved and will answer the expectations of all. But the journalist presents for the event will have a stand available to interview the authors and to proceed to the retransmission in direct of the event.
Livres en Folie in provincial towns
The fair of the book / Foire du livre will be held in the 16 provincial towns where UNIBANK is present on May 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 pm. The branches will be open exceptionally to make it possible for the customers to get their books. For the readers of Cap-Haïtian, the Branch Roi Henri will be open for the event.
